That's strange, it's definitely the latest version that's playable on the browser. Try deleting the itchio cookies from your browser. This might solve the problem.
I'm pretty sure tapps still make evolution games to this day but not sure. Although if you do continue this I can see them growing into larger areas from a lab or something to outside the house and beyond like the tapps evolution games as well

There's a glitch where if a unit is dragged onto two other units at the same time, all three will disappear, but only one of a higher tier will appear, and the maximum doesn't update correctly, meaning you permenantly have -1 slot.
